Griffith Park


6"x 9" gouache. I usually avoided painting in locations like this because of
the complex reflective and luminous lighting, as well as the dappled effect of
light and shadow. Once you get past the first attempt it opens up a whole
new look to your paintings.

I think I know where that is...off in the distance there's a trail, if you're looking in the direction of the river(with the fwy beyond that); I ride my horses there. Those trees are amazing! I love the light in your paintings. Gorgeous!

Love how you have the light so present in this painting. I can almost feel the warmth of the light with the shade of the trees protecting me.
